WHAT'S HAPPENING?

The day started with plenty of fog and cleared to become a great sunny day. The Reserves started the day off with some good pressure footy and kept Spreyton to within striking distance. If so many points hadn’t been kicked it could have gone our way. Goals to Brooksey, Nathan, Jarrod and Robbie, otherwise they were a bit scarce. The veteran Robbie Gleeson played a blinder and then backed it up in the seniors and was able to kick a goal for them. What a great effort Robbie well done. Brownie, G, Gooba, Trigger and Snarey all put in a great effort. Just remember this is our last roster game for you guys today and remember a little less criticism of the umpires and play good footy.

The Seniors hit the ground running and Wade had his kicking boot on and ended the day with three, Jeremy and Aiden Jones were having a red hot go and Jeremy ended with two goals. Rooster, Dave, Blacky and Brem, slotted in a goal each. It was a good standard of footy up until half time and we were in with a show, but after half time the Eagles came out and put the foot down.

Today we take on the Magpies and I am sure we are in for two great games. The Reserves will need to play team footy as Forth will be out to play tough footy as they will be playing in the finals The backline will have to be tight and the forwards will need their goal kicking boots on. The Seniors will need to get out and play a good running game with plenty of talking and encouragement and with Sodes keeping check on the backline every one will be needing to give a 110% effort as we will be backing up again next week to play these guys.

Don’t forget tonight is Best and Fairest count, so good luck to all players and they are asked to bring a casserole, or something for tea.

4th September: Les Hicks Medal Count.

16TH September: East Ulverstone Football Club Dinner.
