EAST ULVERSTONE FOOTBALL CLUB

The East Ulverstone Football Club (Crows) is a merger of the Sprent Football Club (Tigers) and the Ulverstone Districts Football Club (Rebels-Red and White vertical stripes).

The merger happened at the end of the 1999 season, with both teams occupying the bottom rungs of the ladder. The crows were chosen as the colours are a combination of the colours of the merging clubs.
The merger was a success from the beginning, with the newly formed club just missing the finals in its first year (2000). In 2001 East Ulverstone made the finals, and in 2002 tasted premiership glory, in only its 3rd year. East Ulverstone went on to make 3 of the next 4 grand finals (2003, 2004, 2006), only to be unsuccessful in all of them. The team made the Grand Final from the elimination final on 2 occasions, but the effort to get there took it's toll on the team on the big day.

In 2007 the club lost almost all of its senior team. Many of whom retired, moved away or went to play for Ulverstone in a higher standard competition. The club went through its darkest hours, copping a 40 goal hiding at one stage and only winning 2 games against its cross town rival who also struggled.

This year in 2008 the club has undergone massive changes off and on the field. There have been some big defeats, but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel.

The club is rebuilding itself off and on the field and looks forward to a long term future in the NWFA.
