Well the end of what has been a mixed year for Rosebery Toorak is here.Last week is probably indicative of the season we have had. In the Reserves in a first for a long time we actually had three players who were willing to play but weren’t needed meaning the club had 47 players at an away game. This is a great sign for the club and hopefully gives us a foundation to climb up the ladder in both grades next year. Once again the Reserves battled it out and gave their best for four quarters, but were never really in the hunt against a more experienced Forth side.
In the Seniors a high scoring first quarter saw Forth take a handy lead into the quarter time break and it proved too much for the Seniors to make up. Despite plenty of scoring shots in the last quarter the margin proved too great and any hope of playing in the finals this year were dashed.
This week we take on a team destined to feature in the finals in Turners Beach and will once again be given the chance to measure our improvement against a side that has been up there for a few years.
Tonight we once again have hot delicious meals at the clubrooms for just $10.00.
The Best and Fairest count will be held for the Reserves and Seniors tonight starting at 7:00.
Then stick around and be entertained by the annual Players Review hosted by DJ Bozman.
This year's Annual Dinner is on September 24th and to be invited all current players must be members. This dinner will be a huge one as we celebrate 25 years of Rosebery Toorak and honour the Toorak and Rosebery 1971 sides who played of in the epic 1971 grand final. This night is almost guaranteed to be one of the biggest in Rosebery for years and I would suggest you get yourself a membership to secure your invite.
