Well I hope that we may be able to have two good wins today to at least finish our season on a positive note. Thanks must go to all those players who have stuck with the club in a not so successful season. Also, thank you to our coaches for giving their best when they have struggled for numbers throughout the year. Mention must be made of our wonderful trainers this year; they, as usual, have done a great job with very little fuss- although they are not short of advice toward some committee members throughout matches – well done to Shaune and Shane.
Karma sometimes does bite twice, our serial pest (Milo) seemed to have traction difficulties after training last week when some mysterious lads put blocks under his car (plenty of revs, no go though). Also, on Saturday night at our fancy dress night a big hairy remote controlled spider crept up on Milo prompting a leap that would have given him mark of the year, and ear splitting screams that frightened everyone in the room. Johnsy said it was the best 20 bucks he had spent on hiring the toy.
250 senior games for one club is a mammoth achievement and Matthew Knight achieves this milestone on Saturday – Congratulations Matthew.
Must be the season for babies, a little bird told me that Ben and Jane Freshney, are expecting a new arrival in the not too distant future. Good luck and a safe arrival for maybe another little footballer?
Our Best & Fairest will be counted along with the Eagle’s Nest Retreat count on Saturday the 13/8/11 at the club rooms starting at 12pm – lunch will be available along with children’s activities. Our annual dinner and trophy night will be held on the 10th of September please RSVP to Rachel by the 1st September .
Thank you to all who helped in anyway with the footy club for 2011 – we hope everyone can roll up again for 2012.
Signed,
Prez
