WHAT'S HAPPENING?

This week we travel to Wesley Vale to take on the Roo’s for our last roster game. Both sides will be looking to continue their winning momentum heading into finals next week. Senior’s and Reserves are positioned second on the ladder and in a season where we have struggled to get our best sides on the field each week, through injury or work commitments, I think everyone who has stepped up this year should be happy with their efforts so far, but its not over yet boys!

The Reserves came away with a win last week against East Ulverstone and it was great to see the team spirit come through and the boys flew the flag when needed for each other. I’m sure we are looking to put on a better score board performance this week against Vale and get our early season dominance back heading into finals.

The Seniors left nothing to chance when it took on 4th placed East Ulverstone and showed them what to expect come finals time with a 103 point thrashing. The dominance of Murphy in the middle gave the midfield first use of the ball and the forwards of Bissett (8) and Bryan (6) finished off the good work up the field. It was also great to see Mouldy back in the Spreyton colours and we look forward to what he can bring come finals time.

Good luck to all who play this week and remember to get back to the club TONIGHT for the final draw of Joker Poker – it will continue to be drawn until we have a final winner and you must be there to win the $750 that’s up for grabs.

Ea-Girls Corner;

As I sit here and try to think of what to write, all that comes to mind is… Mud!! Lots and lots of mud. Our girls left the club very early Sunday morning, with extremely high spirits, loads of confidence and a second bus full of awesome supporters. We arrived in Hobart to wet, cold, miserable conditions and an oval that was, well, muddy. After gearing up, hearing Coach's final speech, running through the fantastic banner and out on to the ground to the enormous sound of our crowd, the game was on. Unfortunately Clarence was the much more experienced side and showed us how finals are played. We may have lost the game, but not the experience of playing in a Grand Final. A great day, a big night and onto Monday madness shows us how far we as a team have come this year. Congratulations to all the girls, the SFC is very proud of you. As always I would like to thank all those that have given their time to help us and support us and of course our sponsors- Divine Hair and Beauty, H&H Coaches & Banana Bus and Lester/Franks. Also thanks to The Advocate and Sea FM for the coverage of our journey. Without you all, we wouldn’t be the team we are. Until next season girls, we are a TEAM BRAVE AND BOLD BECAUSE WE WEAR MAROON AND GOLD, WE ARE THE MIGHTY EA-GIRLS TEAM!!
